Why should you consider a plastic trestle table over other types?

Folding trestle tables are the ultimate in convenience and strength. Plastic trestle tables (also called polyethene or blow moulded resin trestle tables or plastic resin tables) are designed to be the perfect combination of strength and portability. Of course there are other trestle tables on the market such as wood trestle tables and aluminium trestle tables (which are also sold on this site), but only the plastic trestle tables are the perfect match between price, strength and weight.

Wood trestle tables are much heavier than plastic resin tables, they typically need more care paid to them in terms of keeping them dry and moving them about. Aluminium trestle tables are, of course lighter in weight, but are also a fair bit more expensive. The plastic trestle tables can hold up to 300 kilograms of evenly loaded weight. Thats sufficient for nearly any job you require. They're also very forgiving in terms of care... they clean up easily, can get wet and can handle the odd bump too. So, when considering a trestle table for your next purchase, the plastic resin type is an excellent choice!

How many people can fit around a trestle table?

Well, that all depends on how intimate you want your guests to be with eachother. A typical trestle table size is 6 feet long by 2.5 feet wide. My first question to my customers is what will you be using the table for? If its for general seating without dining or catering, then I would propose you can seat 8 people maximim around a 6 foot trestle table. This will give just enough space for the 8 people to write notes down in a notebook and possibly some space for a cup of coffee or tea on the trestle table.

If the answer is for catering purposes, then I would say you don't want more than 6 people around one of these trestle tables. This is because you will need about 24 inches of width and about 15 inches of depth for each place setting. This will be enough for a plate, glass, cutlery and some left over space for other extras such as condiments etc. for 6 people this perfectly creates enough space. Any more, and it will begin to get very cramped. Have a look at my diagrams below. It should help you visualise the number of seats for different purposes.
